Discipline

Let's face it: knowing what to do in our Christian walk is usually not the problem; having the discipline to do the right thing is. Whether it's restraining our fleshly desires against moral impurity, indulgence, or gluttony, or prioritizing the important things in life over the urgent, discipline is the key character quality of those who represent Christ best- www.thechristianworldview.com

Rejoicing For God's Word

O' Lord that all believers in America would rejoice because Your written Word is available to us, that Your precious promises and undeniable truths can be trusted.
I pray that a great hunger for Your Word will consume our every thought and an overwhelming desire to strive for holiness would take over our lives.

Lord, Your Word is the life and the light of man, woman and child.

Pursue Perfection

Christian, you are to pursue perfection even though you will never attain in this life.

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."
1 Peter 1:14-16

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:12-14

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
2 Timothy 2:21

Misinterpretation of Leviticus 19:18

You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 19:18

This scripture passage is commonly misinterpreted that we are commanded to love ourselves.

Loving yourself is not commanded, it is assumed.
