Great Commandments

I heard a pastor say that if you love God and love others you would not continually lie, steal, cheat, covet, commit adultery, take the Lord's name in vain, dishonor your parents, and fail to remember the sabbath day and keep it holy. If that is true then I guess these really ARE the two greatest commandments.

Matthew 22:37-40
37 And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
38 This is the great and first commandment.
39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."

    Absolutely! Christ wasn't announcing some radical new anti-law concept with his reply. The two great commandments come straight from the Old Testament, and as Christ himself stated "On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."
